John E. Manuel, PA(ASCP)
John Manuel, founder of Pathology People, is a board-certified Pathologists' Assistant (PA) with over two decades of experience in anatomic pathology. He has served as clinical faculty in pathology residency programs and managed pathology and histology services across a range of institutions, including Military Medical Centers, VA Health Systems, Academic Medical Centers, community hospitals, and private laboratories. His expertise in pathology, managing labs, and overseeing technology adoption, is the foundation for his passion to drive forward the integration of emerging technologies into the field.
John has served as the CCO and Head of Pathology at Cision Vision, where he spearheaded the expansion of pathology imaging technologies into global markets. His experience in business development and specialized roles at 10X Genomics, Complete Genomics, and Adaptive Biotechnologies further deepens his commercial expertise. With a strong background as a Pathologists' Assistant (PA) and advanced business acumen, John seamlessly combines clinical insights with strategic operations to drive growth and innovation in the industry. His patient-first approach ensures that Pathology People remains committed to delivering unbiased, high-quality solutions for pathology labs.
A graduate from the University of Washington with a B.Sc. in Cellular, Molecular & Developmental Biology, John also contributed to research in the Departments of Pathology and Immunology at the UW. Shortly thereafter, he earned his PA credential from the American Society for Clinical Pathology and still maintains his AAPA Fellow status.
